I had been given a task to highlight the hair and change the colour of it within Adobe Photoshop. This was the original image I used to produce my edit.
I used the ‘quick mask tool’ to display the selected areas, which is the displayed red colour. I then used the ‘paintbrush tool’ to selected smaller more detailed areas of the hair to capture detailed sections for a more realistic effect.
After finishing selecting the areas of the hair, I exited ‘quick mask’ mode which displays the areas I have selected (the technical term for the selection is called ‘marching ants’).
Finally I after finishing my chosen selected areas, I went to ‘image’>’adjustments’>’hue/saturation’. Within ‘hue/saturation’ I changed the colour of the selected hair area in order to complete the task. I finished with a darkened looking blue colour. I however would like to improve my skills within the future as this could’ve been produced to a higher stander by selecting more thinner hair areas, to grasp more detail.
