From Nordic mythology involving a Japanese urban legend, the “Teke Teke” creature. It’s about the ghost of a young female who fell on a rail way line and was cut in half by the oncoming train. Now a vengeful spirit she travels on either her hand or elbows, her dragging upper torso making a scratching or “teke teke” sound. If she encounters anyone at night and the victim is not fast enough, she will slice them in half at the torso, mimicking her own disfigurement.
The bass of my story revolves around the story from the Hebrew Bible, The Binding of Isaac. God asks Abraham (he is the first of the three patriarchs of Judaism, Abraham plays a prominent role as an example of faith in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) to sacrifice his son, Isaac, on Moriah (which is a mountain presented with a name from the Book of Genesis). Abraham bound his son Isaac before placing him on the altar, in order to perform the sacrifice for God.
A bright light shines down through Abraham’s the house, it is the voice of god speaking to Abraham saying that he must sacrifice his son Isaac in order to prove his faith for God. Abraham’s belief is strong so he tries to prove himself to God, he approaches his son in the night with a knife while he is asleep preparing to murder his son. Isaac wakes up just in time to avoid being killed, he realises what is happening and flees quickly, grabbing whatever items he can and jumps out of the window. The light from above sends creatures to go after Issac in order to bring him back to Abraham for the sacrifice, the Teke Teke mythical creature. As the creature leaps out the window after Issac, Abraham leaves to prepare the sacrifice area as god tells him to do so. However once Abraham is gone, the shining bright light starts to flicker red.
The plot of my game is that you play as Isaac travelling through the level, running away from home as his father wants to murder him. While avoiding the Teke Teke creatures or fight back, as they try to hunt Isaac down to capture him for the sacrifice. Isaac travels seeking the answer to why his father wants to murder him (as he did not hear when god spoke to Abraham). Throughout the game you encounter multiple Teke Teke’s, eventually near the end of the game you encounter the special corrupted Teke Teke which wants to kill Isaac himself, disobeying its master. The corrupted Teke is defeated by Isaac but just as he is about to continue his journey, his father Abraham shows up with a spear forcing Isaac to submit. Isaac is tied up and taken to an altar, Isaac is laid down about to get sacrifice. Just as Abraham pulls out a dagger to kill his son, two shining lights appears in front of them. One of the lights says to Abraham don’t kill your beloved son and the other light encourages Abraham to kill Isaac to prove his faith for God, however the encouraging light flickers and completely changes to red. A dark ominous voice creeps out from the red light still encouraging Abraham to kill Isaac, but it is the devil. Abraham comes to his senses realising that the devil imitated God’s bright light, God forces the devil back to the underworld along with his evil Teke Teke creatures using his bright light to remove all evil and darkness. A ram appears not far, stuck in a bush, god’s voice comes from the bright light speaking to Abraham telling him to sacrifice the ram instead of his son. Isaac is released, Abraham sacrifices the ram in order to please God. God leaves the father and the son, Isaac heads home and packs his items, as he decides to leave his father and go off into the world.

Plot device/ Narrative:
As the player travels through the game as Isaac, first person will be used narrative, at times as he talks to himself giving the shuttle suggestions and hints within the game. For example Isaac may say “I better use this rock and stick quickly, to protect myself”.
Below are just quick sketches of other the characters, the ram which within then game eventually appears stuck in a bush just as Isaac is about to be sacrificed. Underneath is the “Teke Teke” creature’s that pursue threatening to kill him or capture.At the bottom is another set of quick sketches of Isaac’s father Abraham,
These are various designs I drew in my sketchbook, however more are in my actual sketchbook such as character and weapon designs. I drew multiple backgrounds for my future game, within different scenes of the desert and Egypt. Ranging from open lands with mild signs of life, to dead plants and high mountains. Eras Bold ITC font shall be used in my game if possible, but with digital adjustments made.
